Today Kyrgyz Republic is called "the Switzerland of Central Asia". It is located in the north-eastern part of Central Asia and occupies part of Tian-Shan and northern chains of Pamir.

The area of the state is 199.9 thousand square kilometers. The northern point is in the same latitude with Roma, and the southern is with the island of Sicily. Kyrgyzstan is a democratic, parliamentary republic, targeted to liberal reformation.

The state language is Kyrgyz, the official-Russian. Many residents of the capital speak fluent English.

Supreme legislative body of Kyrgyz republic is Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament), a supreme body of executive power is the Government, and judicial branch of power is represented by the Constitutional, Supreme and Arbitral Courts. Kyrgyz Republic has diplomatic relations with 67 countries and is a full member of the UNO, OSCE, IMF, World Bank, WHO, WTO and other international organizations.

Political stability and liberal legislation promote establishment of multilateral relations with various countries. Kyrgyz Republic is an industrial and agrarian country. It occupies seventh position in the world by deposits of gold where "Kumtor" is one of the leading operating gold-mining companies.

More then 1000, not operating large gold fields are officially registered in Kyrgyz Republic. The population of Kyrgyz Republic makes up about 47 million people, who represent more than 80 nationalities. As a result of long cohabitation, as well as owing to the fact that Kyrgyz Republic has religious freedom, the communities coexist peacefully over decades. Kyrgyz Republic is located in the heart of Central Asia. This is a mountainous country, where everything is bearing primeval beauty. Mountain ranges occupy up to 70% of the territory and popular Peak Pobeda (7,439 meters above sea level) is also its pride. Kyrgyz Republic is rich in luxuriant flora and fauna (more than 80 species of mammals, approximately 3, 5 thousand species of vegetation etc.) Kyrgyz Republic has an associative, unique healing lake Issik-Kul. A blue aquamarine is hidden in the middle of the mountains. In the South of Kyrgyzstan there are unique, virgin, nut and fruit forests which remained intact.

The Peak of Pobeda and Khan-Tengry is a dream for alpinists. According to history, Kyrgyz Republic is the very old centre of human civilization.

Its roads remember the crusades of Alexander the Macedonian. The Great Silk Road runs through mountains' valleys.

There are more than 5 thousand historical memorials erected here. There are many cult and sacred places. The Rescue Mountain Tashtar-Ata is a place of pilgrimage for all those touched by a problem of drug addiction.

Bishkek - the capital of Kyrgyz Republic is a present-day industrial city with the population more than one million. The light, spacious building of renovated international airport "Manas" meets its guests from all over the world on daily basis. Bishkek is considered to be one of the quietest and safest green cities of the CIS countries. There are many shady parks and public gardens, where townspeople and guests like to relax. For the last ten years the city architecture has been significantly improved.

Communication Services
There are two major mobile communications providers (GSM - 900 and AMPS / DAMPS standards) are working here, as well as some operators of paging communication. The representative offices of the international firms Mercedes - Benz, Audi - V W, Federal Express, DHL, UPS, Daewoo, Siemens, Panasonic, Reemtstma, Coca Cola and other are functioning in the city.

Suburbs of the city are very intriguing by their various historical and cultural marks, botanical reserves, mineral sources, curative mud, water reservoirs, and picturesque mountains.
